Mini Art Lessons, Portland Museum of Art, Portland, ME, September, 2019
Maine College of Art Master of Arts in Teaching candidates lead mini art lessons centered around specific artworks in the PMA. Middle school students explored the artworks through games and hands-on activities. Here, David Driskell's "Ghetto Wall #2" is discussed before students create a group poem about their reaction to the work.
Puppet Making with Youth and Family Outreach Preschoolers, Portland, ME, September 2019
Preschoolers at Youth and Family Outreach took part in a puppet making workshop inspired by Eric Carle's "From Head to Toe". Students deigned and assembled their own paper and brass fastener animal puppets which they used to interact with the book.
Learning Works After School Art Show, Maine College of Art, November 2019
Learning Works After School programs from elementary schools in Portland and South Portland, ME participated in a combined art show highlighting student artwork created over seven weeks. Here, artwork from Kaler Elementary shows the Imaginary Worlds creations students made: imaginary world, hidden creatures, and a written story.
